Our client suffered a career ending back injury when he fell backwards off of a semi- tractor.  Robert Brabbit filed a workers’ compensation claim against the employer and insurer that denied the nature and extent of the injuries.  The compensation judge found in favor of the injured worker and awarded benefits including wage loss, medical bills and permanent partial disability. The injured worker was never able to return to work due to disabling injuries and Brabbit secured a settlement for permanent total disability benefits.

At the time of the accident our client was in his wheelchair in the middle section of his handicapped van.  His care provider was driving that vehicle and his mother was also a passenger in the vehicle.  They were returning from a 2 month vacation in Florida when the accident took place in Tennessee. They were on a freeway on ramp and the driver of the van had to yield for traffic in front of them.  Then suddenly, he heard a big truck downshifting and then heard the sound of the engine speeding up and they were rear ended. The impact blew out the back window of the van and caused extensive damage to the driver's side of the van.  As a result of the accident, our client suffered neck, back and shoulder injuries.

When a lawn maintenance company decides to undertake doing work on a pool system, the results can be catastrophic.  A company was hired by the homeowner to blow out his lawn sprinkler lines.  After that was done, they then hooked up a powerful air compressor to the pool filtration system.  Shortly after the air was turned on, the pool filter exploded like a bomb and nearly amputated the homeowner’s arm.  

Our client suffered serious injury to his femur, hip and back after the car he was riding in smashed into a tree. Our client was a passenger in the vehicle and they had been attending a wedding. The driver was tested by law enforcement and found to have a blood alcohol level of .14.

Our client was a passenger in a car that was hit by another car when the other driver ran a red light.  She sustained serious permanent injuries as a result of the collision that happened the day after Christmas.

Our clients were a mother and father and their infant son. A hospital pharmacy filled a prescription for the child at 100 times the dose ordered. This resulted in a brain injury to the child. The hospital was owned by a municipality which had no insurance and relied upon the governmental immunity law to limit their exposure to $300,000.00.

Our client was returning home on his motorcycle on a nice, summer day. Suddenly a vehicle was heading right toward him traveling the wrong way on the freeway. Our client was forced to put his bike down to avoid a direct collision. As a result, he was thrown off his bike and to the side of the freeway. He sustained a number of injuries, the most serious, multiple foot fractures. These fractures healed following surgery but significantly limited his activities of daily living and employment.

Our client was injured due to the negligence of an 18 wheeler. She was traveling on the Interstate at 55mph because the weather was bad and the roads were a bit slippery. A semi-truck hauling a load of hogs came up behind her traveling over the speed limit and rear-ended her vehicle. She was able to keep her vehicle from shooting off the highway after the impact but there was severe damage to her vehicle.  The truck driver was cited for inattentive driving.

A 20 year old woman was killed when her car was hit by a semi that ran a red light at an intersection. She was rushed to Mayo Clinic in Rochester where they spent 2 days in an attempt to keep her alive. She ultimately died of cerebral traumatic injuries. Medical costs for those two days were over $75,000.

Our client attended a Halloween party at her friend's house. She was standing next to her car when she was hit by a drunk driver. She was pinned between her car and the car that hit her and was seriously injured. As a result of injuries to her leg, her leg was amputated.
